Barramundi Fly Fishing in Staaten River – Take that Memorable Trip Down South
For some people, fly fishing is a luxurious activity while some consider it as a creative kind of art. 4. Equipment. A flimsy rod is never suitable for this type of fishing. Barramundi’s average size is at 40lb therefore the right rod/reel is very important. When fishing in rivers and estuaries, a bait casting rod and reel with 6-8 kilogram line is necessary.
The lure must also be suitable to fit into the terrain. A shallow running lure is used when fishing upstream or downstream. When fishing in deep snags and steep banks, a lure that goes down to the fish is needed. Colors such as brown, pink, purple and natural are ideal choices.
