For much more reels by Abu Garcia and other reel manufactures visit PoorFish In the open air your provider of affordable Outdoor Shoe since 1995. Since after that, I saw it been an Abu Garcia Revo Reels fan. Unfortunately the main I had is currently with my dad, and I recently can't fly over to his place just to get it, plus it would also take period for him to send it in my opinion. Therefore, I transpired to the local mall and sought for myself personally another Abu Garcia Revo reel. Abu Garcia Revo has released two world-known baitcast reels, your Abu Garcia Revo SX and also the Abu Garcia Revo Toro. I got torn in between. The main I previously owned had been the Abu Garcia Revo SX. To make it simple here are the reasons why I liked the Abu Garcia Revo SX: • It's made of aluminum alloy that makes it corrosion resistant. • It was eventually more durable and lighter compared to the reels made of usual aluminum. • It had an Infini II spool which often allowed me smooth casting and telephone long distance. • 10 tennis ball bearings• That had a Carbon Matrix Drag System making the drag ultra smooth• There was clearly no problems with their Linear Magnetic Brake Process. • It had a compressed bent handle and star that makes it easy to handle plus, I am left handed and the model I acquired was for left person people! The Revo Toro has a 7 HPCR corrosion resistant bearings a one step improvement of my previous reel. The result? Much more accurate casts, and years of hassle free service.

line capacity on a abu ambassadeur multiplier reel?

the model is abu garcia ambassadeur 6500 ct mag elite, the box states it holds 255m of 14lb line at 0.35mm diameter. however i use 25lb line at 0.45mm diameter any idea how i work out how much it will hold.
I understand this reel is for lower lb line and is not intened for use with line of this nature, the reason i ask is i have a very strong casting action and have found in the past that i can snap lesser line on casting.

The Abu 6500 is a small, tournament casting reel, mainly for saltwater. It wont hold that much line, due to the simple fact that it has a small spool, however the CT version what you have should hold more line than the CS (level-wind) as the spool is slightly larger. I would try to use a line like 18-20lb test as that kind of reel isn't designed to hold 25lb line, if you did hook something up to 25lb it would put allot of pressure on the drag washers of a small reel like that, even though they are tough, an abu of about the 7000 size would easily cope with 25lb line. If you still want to use 25lb test line i would imagine it would hold about 180 to 210 yards maximum. Like i said you would be more advised to use a larger reel, braid would increase the capacity it could take, but the reel its self may struggle with a heavy load.

*If you're having line "snap offs" its because you aren't using a shock-leader to prevent the snap offs, its very simple to use and advised. Its basically a heavier line about 60lb, if youre using a 5oz lead then you need 50lb shock-leader, 6oz 60lb etc. It needs to be a rods length. Connect it with a Bimini twist knot. You can buy ready made tapered shock leaders which should help.*
